Default Stewiefied Racing s13 build

Well I made up my mind on what to do to the car. I decided ka-t with a simple bottom mount t25 (t28 in the future). I have a freshly rebuilt ka in the car right now, unfortunately i didn't upgrade anything inside since i did not think i was going to turbo it. I also have a spec stage 2 clutch so the engine will handle some decent boost. Engine management will be handled with an RS Enthalpy rom tune. As of right now I plan on using an SR sidemount ic until i can get a front mount that isn't larger than my radiator.
Sorry for the crappy pics from my phone, and the amount as I'm not the kind of guy that will stop everything to take some pictures. I'll try harder from now on and use my buddy's camera.

turbo set-up that I got a pretty good deal on, the reason i went with the t25 for the time being.

My workspace

Getting ready to pull out the engine

Buddy's rx7 that I try really hard not to dent or even get dirty for that matter

Stripping my spare IM. I may polish this if i have enough free time

New P/S line. Just high pressure line for now

Also for everyone's viewing pleasure, this is the piston out of my first engine. The reason i have a fresh engine to work with. The block has a hole in it's side where the connecting rod exited

Looking great so far for sure!

Hope to see you get it done for this next years events (I am Milwaukee Region SCCA as well).

Looking forward to checking it out in person as this is the same route that I will be taking in the not to distant future. KA-T just makes too much sense when its all put on paper, not to mention SCCA and other clubs are only recognizing the SR and KA as the only engine combinations to stay classed appropriately (without going into some (X)-mod class where you wont be competitive ever).

Keep us updated!

I can't believe you bothered to tear the old one apart,

Last block we vented we just threw away the whole short block, (we sorted thru the oil pan goodies first ofcourse)

i like the build sr/ka's are great for the budget build and at the end of the day you've got alot more area under the curve.

Well I had some free time and I wanted that piston lol. Now I have a whole engine's worth of spare KA bolts, minus the connecting rods...
Riggle, have you gone to any of the autox's in milwaukee? I don't recall seeing your car there. Actually, I've only seen two other s13's. Both drifters that added to our bad rap with autocrossers.

Glad to see it's coming along! Our index really sucks this year. I can't improve the car enough to keep up. Looks like I'll have to really concentrate on driving this year.

Once you add power, the car becomes a different beast. Don't forget a huge front sway bar to try and keep the back in the back if you haven't already.

I have a whiteline fsb now. should do the trick alright. Yeah SM is pretty difficult but i decided on a fun car that i can take to some hpde/pdx's this summer over a competitive autocross car. I have way too much to learn before I would even be able to do a competitive car justice.

Whiteline should do the trick for sure. I think it's one of the biggest out there. That was my reasoning as well. Good fun HPDE car that I can locally compete with in autocross.

I have a complete sidemount if you don't have one already. It's been pressure and flow tested at a radiator shop and even has the plastic intake duct. I also have a bunch of SR piping if you figure out you need that too. I will let most of it go for cheap...PM me if you are interested.

FWIW, I wish I would've gone KA-T with my car originally. I learned a lot rebuilding the SR and putting all kinds of trick parts on it, but the KA-T would've given me a better powerband with a much lower initial investment.

My friend recently bought a fmic for his SR so I'm pretty sure he'll give me that for free if not, real cheap. I'm really looking forward to the ka-t. It should be a ton of fun. My goal for this winter is just to get it turbo'd and sort out the engine. Next winter, if I don't have enough cash for the koni 86** setup, I will most likely build the KA to handle more boost.

I may have an engineering apprenticeship postion this fall so I'll be going back to school again. I would have to put the car on hold for a while and just run autox's but it'd be worth it. wish me luck.

As for the build, I'll probably get back to it monday since i work all weekend. I decided that I'm going to polish the intake manifold in my free time so any tips or suggestions would be great. I have the engine out and I started replacing the exhaust manifold studs to no prevail. Now i need to get a stud removal tool...
