I havea used set in the garage and they weighed in at 18.0 lbs. The scale is relatively new, but it IS a bathroom scale and I had to do the "weigh yourself, then weigh yourself with rotor" method.

Using the same method, Z33 Track rotors were 22.2 lbs. R1 lists them at 20.5, which isn't bad.

I can reweigh them, but these only had about 500 miles on them, and I weighed them on a postal scale that is accurate to +/- 0.1 oz. They were just a hair below 20 lbs, but don't remember the exact weight.

Maybe the Brembo rotors I have are a little heavier than others, but I do notice the hub face thickness is pretty excesssive, it's a little over 1/4". I'm betting Nissan finally realized that was a little overboard and thinned it out in later rotors to keep the weight down.

Whatever the case, these 12.2" 2 piece rotors are going to drop some big weight over any larger 1 pc rotor weight. Probably going to keep the weight very close to the stock brakes if not slightly less.

The only time I locked mine up on track was at the end of the front straight at VIR, and it was the front passenger side. Again, a very subjective comment as my corner weights are probably different.
Yea, 1.38's look like they'd work with stock rear brakes just fine. With Z32 rears the 1.62's are closer to ideal. Slightly more front bias than a stock Z32 setup, but probably about the same front/rear bias as a stock 240SX, and can be tuned slightly with pad changes.

Might want to rephrase...I had a prolonged spell of confusion until Monty straightened me out over the phone, because I thought you switched and were now advocating larger rotors.
Added some more words. I was comparing the 12.2x1.25" setup I'm working on to the 12.9x1.1" Wilwood setup that's already out for our cars if you can stomach $170/ea rotor replacements.

I would trust your scale over mine any day. R1's numbers being close to mine for the Brembo rotors does lend some credence to my weights though.

I just weighed my 11.75" rotors and Wilwood hats, complete with hardware and safety wire and 1 track event's worth of wear...
11.8 pounds

I am looking for something that will fit under 15" wheels. Not sure if the 12.2's will and I am looking for ultra light weight. Something for autox only. Will these hats work for the 11.66' size as well? My wheels should be here within 3 weeks and I can find out where and how much the drop is for getting the tire on. That is what will determine how much room I have.

The 12.2" will probably be close on wheel fitment. I'm using an 11.6" or so from the R32, and there's miles of clearance on my 17s.
The issue was the off-the-shelf rotor & bolt pattern I could find was funky- 10 bolts on 6.8125". I had to make custom hats to fit. I can probably get another set made up pretty quick if you want some though. (not to take away from Def's stuff, but if it doesn't fit the application......)

The 11.75" with billet dynalites had about 2mm clearance if that to most my 15" wheels that I owned. I believe superlites have better clearance than the dynalites, so I could see an 12.2" setup fitting with the right wheel... alot of if's though.

There's only a few hundredths difference between the two for radial dimensions. The big difference is the width of the caliper and the size of the pads you can put in them.
(And the superlite is a WAAAAY stiffer caliper)

The hats are 8x7" bolt circle. The brackets are designed around a 12.19x1.25" rotor. If you wanted something smaller to shave a few more lbs you'd have to get a custom bracket made. I could help you with the design if you wanted something to take to a local machine shop to knock out a couple. The rotor weights don't go up by a huge amount though, so not sure what you'd save... Maybe 1 lb? 2 lbs at most I'd day as that's only a 8.5 lb rotor.
