I'm planning on picking up an S13 engine tomorrow. Anyone know how much the short block weighs? Or how much am I going to have to pull off to be able to move it around and get it on a stand? I was planning on pulling the pan and head to inspect it anyway. Can I move a short block on my own?

On a similar note, aside from deep rust in the cylinders and obviously cracks, anything I should look for to avoid?

A KA short block is pretty stout, don't see you carrying one by yourself even with no accessories. Take the head off and it gets within the realm of possibility, but still pretty heavy.

Yeah, I was just going to pull the head and go from the back of an SUV to an engine stand. I could possibly pull the crank.

Kind of late to the party but here's a Dyno of a simple setup from a member back on 240SXF BUT! This was with a 248/248 setup.
But gives you an idea/visual of the power made with what setup.

I tried dragging a shortblock by tying a rope through the starter mounting hole and it broke the casting. It's heavy.

Sissies. I picked that bitch up and carried it across the garage.

don't ask me to hold it in place long enough to bolt it to a jackstand, but I've picked one up before to move it around.
