That'll be fine. That's all a pretty low pressure area. The rear vent might be in slightly higher pressure, but should still work ok. The important part is just to get some flow from the engine bay out the hood.

Necro-bump....

Lesson of the day: NEVER FORGET TO LATCH YOUR HOOD PINS

https://youtu.be/UsO2CsqiAwM

Luckily this was just a test and tune day, which doesn't make it any less embarrassing... . Regardless, the hood is fvcked, the hinges got bent to sh!t, and the roof got seriously dented. If the hood skeleton wasn't totally gutted, the windshield would've been destroyed. I will never use anything but Aerocatch hood pins in the future because it's glaringly obvious when they are not latched.

SO, it's time to get a new hood now. YAY! And being that the OEM hoods on S13/14's feel like they're 50lbs, anything other than an OEM will be better. Even when gutted to the nines, it's heavy.

Can anyone recommended what the lightest, vented hood is currently on the market is that isn't TOO gaudy? I've obviously been searching around and there are quite a few options, some more horrific looking than others, some not so bad. Just want to see what others think (and get some more life in here).

Thanks!

Good idea. I will search more often. CF hoods on CL are rare though. And with my luck it'll be a Dmax style one and those make me throw up in my mouth. Maybe they look better in person. Maybe...

I think the non vented ones look the best. those dmax hoods with the big square industrial air conditioning vent look like ass. I can't believe they keep making them.

industrial air conditioning/venetian blinds/Klingon forehead....

I'm thinking OEM style CF but cutup with something like this:

Remove some of the skeleton while I'm at it because it seems they basically make a mold of the OEM skeleton and just stick it on the bottom.
