Tax on Autotrader? don't buy from a stealership!

If you'd buy fewer car parts with cash, you could buy the car without financing. I quit modding my DD and buying stuff for it I didn't 'need' a few years ago and just put the money into the bank. After a few years and I was ready for another car, I had $20k sitting in the bank. bought my G35 with cash. beyotch!

Well I forget the deal with dealerships, usually I buy cash. In Canada when you register it you still have to pay tax on it.. and regardless of how much it cost you, the tax is calculated based on the blue book value of the car.

Few years back bought a car for 700$, but had to pay tax on it as if it was 2000$... big time rip of.

Stupid Canuckistanis...

Then again, they started doing that in TX about 10 years ago after way too many people bought cars from their aunt for $500 that have less than 100k on the ticker..

Still stupid.

FYI, there's a couple of FD RX7s around Houston that are for sale right now. don't think you want to pay for them (and another $1000+ to ship), but there are several rust-free chassis around here.

Not knowing anything about Canada's import/ export regulations, could you get a C5 from the US and drive it in Canada?
