  • Let's see your road racing car in action (pix/video)!! *NO PICS, NO POST!*

Thought it'd be fun to share pictures of our track cars in action. What better way to promote motorsports?? I'll start...

I went to Streets of Willow (SOW) May 29, 09. The event was held by an MR2 club. They need further sign ups to cover track costs. I have 4 sessions with 30 minutes per session. I didn't push it too hard as I was trying different lines to take around the track. It was an awesome day to say the least. I haven't been to SOW in a few years, so I was weary of how the car might feel. Luckily my effort to tune suspension paid off. My car felt nice 'n stable and very predictable.

Here's a video of the driving event captured in a few minutes. Film was done by a friend of mine.

I do 'real' racing as well (time trials, autox). Just don't have any pictures of that handy. . .

MMDB: What times did you run?

      Here's some of my pics.

The first three are taken from the budwiser balcony at big willow and the third is coming off the skidpad at the streets of willow.

Racepar1, thought you had a coupe? Or just a sil80 as the kids would call it?

I'm betting that Ford GT got by with ease that next straight.

I had a red coupe, but I wrecked it before I was ever on any internet forum. My fastback started life as a pignose car, I then turned it into a "sil-80", and now I have a chuki front end on it. The car actually has a garage defend lip spoiler now as well. My car has a serious identity crisis! LOL!

That ford GT was incredibly fast on the straights. But as fast as it was the driver couldn't control it and it spent half the day sitting in the pits with some minor damage to the rear diffuser. So REALLY, I win! YAY! LOL! That picture is my favorite pic of my car that I have. The ford GT and the lotus in the backround just make it really cool.

No idea. Timing wasn't provided, it was my 2nd time there, and I was figuring out the line. I hit ~95 down the back straight after fish bowl towards the end of the day tho It's pretty damn scary going over that blind hill btw. I don't trust the flaggers all the time hehe.

Coming into The Bitch at Hallett...

Taking Dad along for a ride..
He screamed the first time I nailed the brakes going into T2 at Hallett. His head snapped forward like a rag doll dangling from the seat belt!

My wife took a bunch of shots when I was at TWS yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to pull the pics off the camera and dig through the 200 shots for the handful of usable ones. Will update post later.

In my sig pic is me at Hallett on the left, and Sebring during a check ride on the right...

LOL, that's my favorite part. The way that you just pitch the car into the last part of the chicane and just kinda say "well I hope it sticks this time" is just awesome IMO. That turn and the bus stop at buttonwillow rock! You can go so much faster then you would think there if you can just trust the car.

If you are really worried about flaggers then the video in here will give you nightmares.

Damn... That flagger needs to be drawn and quartered. even if he didn't spot the oil slick, he should have spotted the THREE cars already off and the two more spinning through the mess!!

EXACTLY! We were told about this during our first drivers meeting. Ironically a 300zx's radiator blew and dumped a bit of coolant near the fishbowl I believe. There was an NSX I was tailing and it spun out right in front of me and I think that's the reason why. I'll post videos when I get the chance.
