  • Care for Carbon Fiber

Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not so please move it if its in the wrong location. What is the best way to take care of your carbon fiber parts? I have a carbon fiber hood that has what appears to be some faded clear coat spots. Whats the best way to alleviate/repair those spots?

If it's got a clear coat on top of it (it should), then you should be able to buff and polish it just like regular paint.

If it's already started, it's likely only going to get worse though. I suggest wet-sanding it with 2000grit to clear off the ugly and prep the surface, then paint the whole thing again with a quality clear paint that contains UV blocking agents.
