What spring pressures are in your actuator ?

    • 1.5bar. Drops to around 1.2bar in the higher revs but that's because there isn't much preload

      • I think it may be time for another group buy from full race. A few guys on Nissan Silvia are keen and I think I could add another 2 turbos to that list. Aussie dollar isn't great ATM , but itd be cheaper than local prices

        • I'm definitely game. The USD is pretty strong these days, but I don't see that changing much in the next year or so.

How do import taxes work for AUS?

          • You get charged goods and services tax on anything over 1000aud. It's 10% plus I think customs fee of a percent or 2. From memory, something's are taxed less (exhaust systems was listed separate to turbocharger systems from memory)

            • Hmmmm, would this (potential) group buy also have manifolds as well?!?!

              • My mate is still keen for an 8374 for his RB26. He already has manifold, just needs to get wedding out of the way !

Sure, everything Full-Race offers is a go.

                    Hmmmmm.

Well, I am going to liquidate some items from my "stash" here over the next few days. I will be keeping an eye on this

                    • So to revive this

Anyone has any idea how the GenII stuff from Garrett will fare? against the EFR?? It seems they are utilizing some of the EFR features (machined speed sensor hole and new turbine wheel design it seems to name a few)

                      • Still going to need a external gate gen2 to make it nice to use which will bring up the cost and complexity and still won't respond as well. They aren't TiAl wheels are they?

So they've added the least used EFR feature (speed sensor provision) . I can't see it doing much except for getting the Garrett fanboys hard

                        • Still partial back inconel turbine wheels. Efrs will still dominate the response war.

                          • Holy **** they're a rip off. 2.8k AUD from GCG here in aus for a gtx2 3076. That's external gate so you also need to buy a gate. A twin scroll EFR 7163 with an internal gate is 3.2k and you don't need to buy a gate. its going to be more responsive and have a better powerband for the same power output. I don't get what garret have done... Moved their turbos closer in price to EFRs but failed to actually close the performance gap?

                            • Prices look to be the same here

GTX2867 is still $1300ish without turbine housing.

                              • It looks like some pricing... at least street pricing, has inched up for Gen 2 GTX turbos. Is that due to a MAP increase, or a base increase? Not sure - but it seems the end user cost has increased for now.
