  • AEM Infinity CAS Disk

    Thanks to Def, I'm not looking to run the AEM Infinity to us twin DBW TBs. While looking into it more I came across that the setup wizard now has an option to use the stock Nissan CAD setup vs converting the the CAS with the AEM provided disk that is said to be a PITA to install & many people break the disk on accident. For those using the Infinity have any of you tried this yet & have any experience with it? I'm wanting to run a crank trigger, but its my understanding that the CAS still needs to be used. Thanks for any help & wisdom.

    AEM CAS disk is a 5 min install with some beer drinking in the middle. 4 screws and you're done. Replacement only goes on one way so it's foolproof.

    I'd hate to have someone who calls that a hard install wrench on my car!

    The disk is steel too... pretty hard to break that.

      This... AEM has always had an issue with the 360* nissan CAS disks... I assume it's something with how they calculate engine position and floating point... If your engine has a CAS or distributer providing both crank and cam position, AEM's replacement encoder disk is stupid simple to install, fully supported by all of AEM's (and pretty much any) engine management, and then there is no need to fab up a separate crank/cam hall sensors... it's 24/1 so works with 4/6/8 cylinders, seriously a no brainer.

      In the AEM forums there's even threads on how to install for various engines

        Exactly. Just to add, pattern is equivalent to 12 crank, 1 cam pattern.

          Thanks Def & b3tuning, I've never opened the CAS up before. I have only "heard" in the Z community that it is difficult & the AEM disk breaks very easily. They must be smoking something good because it looks pretty straight forward, easy & IDK how someone would break a metal disk.

            The VG and RB has a different setup that requires major surgery of the CAS. KA and SR are super simple compared to those.
