  • Project b13 Track Rat is BACK (project since 2006). Determined to get it on a track!!

    What WAS:

....had moved to our garage but sat for a few more years...

the interior cage is finally got painted instead of just primer!

then adding the window net properly

then seat fitment and new rear brakes (p10 rear brake upgrade btw)

new water pump installed before putting engine in the car

weld had to be redone too.. lol

    SSAC exhaust header installed AND

Trans mated to engine... Fidenza flywheel w/Act 6-puck unsprung clutch and centerforce pressure plate now installed!

    and some more progress:

..and the car is getting an engine and trans installed (never thought this day would arrive so it was pretty exciting)

lots of wiring and she's alive! Starts and runs! YAY!

power steering cooler of course was needed..

...have the custom side exhaust all installed too....

Our friend Steve was over earlier to help get the engine lined up to the motor mounts and posed for a silly photo:

...and NOW for the dash, battery relocate... paint prep (getting ready to home-do a white paint job.. lol) --

some more progress and how she looked yesterday August 3, 2013:

The backyard paint job has begun as of today (sunday Aug 4th 2013)!

Nice to see it didn't grow a bunch of dust and cower in the corner, ending up on Craigslist in 5 years for $150obo

lol... no way I'd even consider selling just the caged shell for $150 (never gonna happen unless of-course it was for scrap metal to a junk yard after a bad track crash)

So now all the plastic bits are painted (gotta love that plastic specific paint they sell now-a-days).

...also a nice safety fuse set up ready to go for the battery:

Love it. This is just what I'm doing with my NX2000 too.

              gluck on the nx2000 project!

and oh, I forgot to post the finished product at the track... so here you go:

..and then 'ready to race' PTF with NASA right before being issued a logbook here:

..and in case anyone was wondering how we tackled having a window in place for transit or street driving (along with interior door handle):

Nice! Good thing you have lots of pics - it won't look that clean for long. But battle damage is good.

Not sure why my sig isn't showing up. My car's in there.

Holy crap, now it is. It looks excessively-sized! Maybe it's just the computer I'm on...? (I hope)

I must be missing the window retention method. Can you further explain?

                        ^ Fun! I always love in-car footage.

Anyone else feel like they needed a telephone book to sit on though? That camera has to go just a bit higher, IMO

yeah, we realized after the fact that we should have used the taller mount... oh well, it made it really nice for the overlays anyway.. haha
