  • Greddy Oil Pan pretapped size?

Looking to get an oil temp gauge for my car. I already have the Greddy oil pan which has a tap for a gauge, but I have no idea what size/threading it is. Will most off the shelf gauges fit? Or would it be smarter to just get a Greddy oil temp gauge?

My real GReddy pan (purchased new in '04) is 1/8" BSPT.

Yea, it made it kind of a PITA to put an NPT oil temp sensor for my Stack dash in there. Ended up drilling and tapping a drain pan bolt for NPT and plugging the pan.

I hear some cheap FReddy pans have 1/8" NPT bungs.

Mine is indeed a genuine GReddy Oil Pan. So I guess one of these and I should be good to go: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-2269

Thanks for the quick replies, I couldn't seem to find out the specs anywhere!

i think the real japanese gauges are typically bspt, such as greddy, maybe hks, etc.

most "american market" gauges have npt senders, like stri, autometer, etc.

if you want to run an npt male sender into a bspt female hole, you can use a bspt die and cut down your sender a bit. i've done it a bunch of times without issue.

My Defi oil temp gauge sender fitted straight in.

Don't quote me on it but a quick goggle search shows the Defi sender has a 1/8PT thread.

Yea, in Defi's case, 1/8PT=1/8BSPT, so it should thread straight in.

Yep, I had a Defi oil temp gauge in mine for 6 years. I probably should have gotten a different sender for my Stack dash that's 1/8" BSPT, but the non-Stack senders aren't super common in the US, and I wasn't going to drop $100 on a Stack sender. So it was drill and tap time for a drain bolt.
