Figured I'd share. I went to Thunderbolt Raceway's F1 Kart facility today for a few open sessions. Its a great track and they have 9hp Rimo karts which is the first time I've ever been on any karts over 4-4.5hp. They were pretty decent and for two 15 lap sessions it cost $35 and then $20 but I think I'll get the $25 seasonal license next year. Then each 15 lap round will only cost $25 and then $20.

What I learned is that I'm not better than my teammate at not scrubbing off speed even though I'm faster than him in the FSAE car. So it exposed some flaws which is always good.

Tim's a good guy. I can't wait to visit. Those karts handle like garbage anyways so it's not really a good comparison to a FSAE car.

Tim's the friggin man, he gave me a ride around Thunderbolt and Lightning in his V8 swapped 3 series and we should be taking the FSAE car on the kart track soon which will be incredible.

Those karts though... first corner off course excursion due completely non-existent brakes.

Haha sound's like Tim. Tell him Cali from the original F1 says hi. Yeah those karts I believe have mechanical brakes and they suck big time. Imagine using a bicycle brake to slow down a 50 mph go kart, cuz thats what they are. Haha.

Yeah you are correct. Mechanical brakes and shoddy tires on the last track day of the year in 40* weather...
