Just a thought, since these messages are small I don't think it should make much of a performance impact of any kind. Most other forums provide 100 msg inbox. Hard to keep deleting all the old messages all the time especially if I want to keep them (if i had some kind of discussion)..
Also we could have a suggestions/forum input section added, but that's up to you.
