Torque wrench. :-P
The SR20 is pretty straight forward. I don't recall needing any major specialty tools to be honest.

plastigauge for bearing clearances
patience to deal with the plastigauge
FSM
I'd avoid plastigauge at all costs. It doesn't seem all that reliable for accurately measuring clearances.

DO NOT USE PLASTIGAGE....for anything, EVER
I have done back to back tests VS a micrometer and bore gauge and the plastigage just doesn't work, at all, I even did repeatability tests on the same journal several times and the plastigage read different everytime and was never right

It's better than nothing if you insist on doing the stuff yourself. you'd definitely be better off mic'ing them properly, but if you're not willing to spend the money on quality mics, you're better off with plastigage than with nothing.
I just took the engine to a local shop and had them mic and spec the bearings so I didn't have the hassles..

You are correct sir. Since the head will be coming off it seem like a good time to check clearances and fresh'n up the build.
Oh and no PLASTIGAGES will be used.
