Are there any specific S-Chassis/Club national events? 2012?

Something similar to ITR-Expo...

With a really strong turnout there'd probably be about 10-15 cars...

Main issue is that everyone is quite spread out.

It would be pretty cool otherwise.

Most we've had show up at ORP is 4 for a track day. (Ron, Your_Mom, McCoy, and CoolBlue I believe)

Would work out best to at least start with a Regional thing I imagine...like West, East, and Midwest.

I imagine if we held one at Reno, it's a good split between North/South on the West Coast.

Announce one near Mobile, AL and watch what happens. Ha
We always seem to get big numbers when we meet for the hell of it. Announce something official and we probably won't get a dozen people.
couple friends of mine organized a group called Gulf Coast Autowerks and sets up local meets around my area. We aren't chassis specific though, we invite all kinds. Imports, domestics, bikes... you name it.
We just happen to have as many RWD Nissan/Datsun guys as most do in the Honda crowd.

Nelson Ledges race track in eastern Ohio has a lot of affordable ($125 for the day with pretty much unlimited track time) Fun Friday events that could easily be turned into an S-chassis event. Also twice a year (June and October) there are Sunday Torqued Racing events. All are open to any kind of car and would be cool to get as many S-chassis cars as possible.

I can count on 8 dedicated Midwest S-Chassis guys...and thats being conservative.

Its all about connecting the two coasts. But if you were to meet in the middle..lets say..St. Louis (Gateway Intl) or even Autobahn CC in Chicago. That wouldn't be so bad.

If there was even a solid West Coast event mainly dedicated to NISMO/S-Chassis Car Track Day...im sure a couple of us would make the trip out there. Might as well make a vacation out of it.

It would have to be in conjuction with a NISMO/Nissan track day of some sort.

Are there any NISMO/Nissan Track Days that are national? If yes, please explain. Types of cars, location, cost, turnout.

Im contacting other local Nissan communities and seeing what they think of hosting a NISMO Track Day. Its just an idea at this point, but hopefully it can become something.

We should do it at Motorsports Ranch Cresson since it's about 25 mins away from me. :D

It's a good idea, but tough to swing since so many here have cars that would need to be towed that far. That said, if it's a really awesome track I might try to fly in and do a rental car challenge and pwn some KA powered S chassis. :D

I'd be down once I have a car put together, but I wouldn't be able to travel very far- eastern Midwest would be it for me. We're a pretty widely spread group with contingents in the midwest, NE, TX, west coast.

I'd drive out to ohio as 240sxTTC mentioned or something like VIR or watkins glen.

Theres a decent crew on the east coast i believe. Me, codyAce are basically in the same town, and more im sure that he knows.

Its going to either be at:

Blackhawk Farms Raceway (South Beloit, IL) - the Tsukuba of the Midwest as a few of us like to call it.

or

Gingerman Raceway (South Haven, MI)

Autobahn CC is too expensive. And both of these tracks are lenient with track events. I've done a few private events at Gingerman, and it was a great time. ALOT of seat time, and the track is well balanced.

I've seen a lot of PA & OH people on here, I think Nelson Ledges would be a prime "regional" meet. It's cheap like 240sxTTC mentioned. I know the owner there, and our SCCA region members help run almost all it's events. Also, Kryder Racing is a race shop near there and Reed Kryder has raced Nissans for probably 20 years and has ~6 S-Chassis cars. If we could get enough people interested we could make it something official. Or we just pick a date and all show up. Both work.

Nelson Ledges is a fast, great track! One thing though.....bring Loctite!

BTW - my car is in this month's issue (Jan'12) of Modified. The photo shoot was done at Nelson Ledges race track. Scott and Kerrie are very nice people. They let me do the photo shoot during the 24hr Chump race. They even let me go on the track during the 5pm safety check for action shots.

Sounds like fun, but I'm definitely not towing 2700 miles round trip for a track day!

It is a blast! I usually don't tow over 500 miles let alone 2700 so I don't blame ya!

I was at the track when they did the photoshoot and got to meet Rob and he let me poke around the car a little and BS. Modified spread looks pretty good too. Haven't read the article, but the pictures looked pretty good. Congrats.

Nelson is a blast. If anyone is interested in the PA/OH/KY/WV area or where ever wants to do this at Nelson Ledges chime in and I can start looking into it.

It was nice meeting you. Once the 2012 schedule comes out for the Fun Days and Torqued Racing events I'll post the info.

Nelson Ledges has their 2012 schedule up.

http://www.nelsonledges.com/

Who's interested in invading one of their fun days? I saw a couple back to back fun days listed. I was thinking about asking if they would do a lower price if you did both days. Ton's of room to camp out there.

I'm going try and make a few of the Fun days at the beginning of May.

If Cody ever stops changing his build and finishes his S13 it would be fun to come check it out. I don't have an S-Chassis any more so I would be shunned!! LOL

Now when I 20b the FD and drop the 13b in an S13 just for something different for a track car, I would love to do something like this!

----------------

There is very low track support for Nissan cars here in the midwest. Though I am happy to say that there are atleast 8-10 dedicated S-Chassis guys here in the Chicagoland area that see the track. :-)

Ramm, I'm all signed up to instruct again at West Michigan Honda Meet. It is practically sold out while still in pre reg status and it is still winter! Too bad we can't get something like that set up for Nissans. I did insturct at SERca when it came to Chicago in 2007. Mostly a sentra thing but at least Nissan. Back then I had an Acura.

I'd be down for some Fun Days...that's less than 2 hours from me. Getting the day free is another story but I'll make an effort,e specially if a bunch of folks are going.

I'll be at WMHM again this year, but I won't be in my S13. I moved to the northwest and my car will be up here in a few weeks. I'm not towing over 2000 miles each way so I'll be in a rental/friends.

I'd drive no more than 10 hours away from pittsburgh to make a good nissan trackday. Money is extremely tight but i'd make something happen if we got 10 or so good nissans on track.

My list, i may have missed some.
