Holy balls, how long is this track?
Looks a bit like a country club track they're building near Chicago. They sent me a brochure, I think it has like 12,000 possible configurations.

we are doing the full track (what you see above) at 4.1 miles. has a couple blind turns, and some really nice elevation changes. i've been hitting up utube for videos. it should be damn fun.

LMAO. bring on the milk! haha.
yep i'm signed up
My new 615's came today, new pads will be here friday. lots of work to do between now and then thou. did clearbra on the hood, still gotta do the front fenders. and i need to do some pulling and rolling of the back fenders. the toe has just killed the rear tires in no time. so i gotta run less camber and no toe.
defiantly getting a video camera and a mount for this.

I'm staying at the super 8 in fernley. they give a AAA discount if you mention that your doing a track day at reno fernley.
yeah so far:
$400 for 2 days of driving
$246 for hotel
$273 for rear tires
$100 for new hawk blue pads
then gas and food. and i'm still debating on taking the truck and trailer. but that would add almost an extra 500. i'm better off renting a uhaul truck and trailer if i break.

I think so,
I've driven to california for track days and have had no issues before.
My last out of state event (not including portland was Laguna seca. Thats 900+ miles one way to do 2 track days and drive home. No major issues... unless you count one of your rear coilovers coming off the upright going on the main straight. that was pretty embarassing. your better driving the car, if something happens, lets hope we can get parts or help =)
If i still have this car through the summer I might install a tire tail. s14 and s13 coupes have no room for anything useful.

Old Fuzion ZRI 275/40/17 to the new Dunlop 255/40/17. Dunlop's are just slightly narrower.

These tires are the new revised version of the Dunlop Z1, this being the star spec, it looks like the main benefit is better cold bite. Its not bad for a evenings drive here in Washington 40 degree evening.
So far impressions with a few on ramps and off ramps(intermediate driver who doesn't know what hes talking about):
I was expecting a harsher ride from the sidewalls but when i went on the highway I immediately noticed how much softer they were than my Fuzion ZRI (best bang for the buck). But tossing the car left and right gave me a lot of positive feedback. Next thing was noise from the tires, these have a massive amount of tire contact on the ground so they do hum a little. The tires don't transmit that much road noise compared to the Fuzions but instead have developed that background hum noise. All in all i'd prefer the Dunlops hum noise over the noise transmitted over the Fuzions.
I ended up taking a few on ramps and off ramps, the usual off ramps i usually take at about 75mph have now increased to about 90mph conservatively. Because the sidewalls feels a lot softer I can feel it absorbing some of the harsh imperfections in the road which is keeping the car a bit more stable in the corners. This instantly got me giggling. Usually in the evenings here when the tires are cold I usually can roll into 2nd and get them spinning easily, with these traction was not an issue (327rwhp) I think i found my new street tires. I was told by a friend who ran these they worked really well at a wet lapping day he attended. At $150+- a tire, i think its the best bang for your buck when your considering grippy street tires. I'll get a better analysis of this tire in Fernley.

oh and weren't you telling how nice those fuzions were. haha. I like those sizes, i'll check them out next time i'm looking.

The fuzion tires were just ok for a street tire but fail in so many ways on track... but, they are a cheap tire.

I still maintain fuzion tires are the best bang for the buck. For $115 for a 275/40/17. They work immediately, i like to rate tires in overall performance. These tires work really well in the sub 40 degree temps here. They don't greese or change their traction curve when pushed hard. It is a good constant, and thats what we all need when learning (unlike my kts dampeners) Its a good learning tire/ Street tire.
