i figured i would start a thread on here cause i need some intelligent people to point me in the right direction..

well i had my 1st autox today... the track layout was simple but there was one thing that was killing me... and i wanna know how common this is or how to fix it...

during the slolum i would get a lot of resistance in the steering wheel when i was trying to transition.. it eventually caused me to miss a gate. I have an autox next weekend and i would like to try and get this worked out.. cause next weeks slolum will be 3x harder.. any suggestions??

EDIT: it was a nashville corvette club autox.. i was the only non corvette.. and i out ran half of the corvettes out there.. lol

Do you have PS? What front tires (compound, width) are you running?

It's possible that you were boiling the fluid, but generally that doesn't happen during an autocross run. Try bleeding the system and see if there are any air bubbles present.

Anyone know if the 240 has a similar setup to the setup described here: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/wayback/pspump.html

I'm guessing not, as I've never felt the steering cut-out on mine.

what he is explaining may be the problem... but if nobody else is having the problem then i may be wrong... im gonna play with engine rpms threw the slolum for the next event and a couple of other things and hopfully i can work this out... would alignment have anything to do with this.. i need to get a good alignment i just havent had the $$.

I doubt that alignment would have much to do with your problem, but you should get a good alignment as soon as you can afford to.

The next time you experience this, finish your run and as soon as you get off course and out of the way, pop the hood and see if the p/s fluid is boiling. You can hear it boiling or see it through the container.
