ruined the front end, and somehow didnt damage any of the trackside metal gators (the track makes you pay to replace whole strips if damaged $$$$$$$$)

He put two off on teh right side and his momentum carried the back end around and pulled him directly acrossed the track into the grass where there was no more control what-so-ever. He was off his apex by about 1 ft, because of a slightly late turn-in. Small mistakes when you are going 10/10ths usually leaves minimal to zero room for error.

slightly late turn-in.

Yup, you gotta get to the left gator. T10 looks soooooo innocent but I have seen more crunched cars there than I care to count. That really sucks :(

I like to turn in early and get in the dirt on the other side of the gator to the left for T10.

I ALWAYS leave a little on the table for T10, especially in a HPDE.

what do you mean on the left side of T10? do you ride up on the birm at the apex?

T10 is a big faith turn, once you realize exactly where your going at your turn-in then you just keep going faster and faster. I usually come right to the gator at teh apex and glid all the way out to the gator while exiting. I try to stay off the actual apex because it is a blind turno cresting a hill, i feel it might unsettle the car too much.

If I am on a "hot" lap, I'll put 2 in the dirt OVER the gator. It is actually pretty smooth and the guy filming me taught it to me.

Some crazy folks go "agricultural" coming thru the uphill esses

i have seen that. but prefer to keep myself on pavement. the dirt seems too sketchy for me.

*sorry for thread resurrection*

Holy **** I was there for that! I was the Blue Civic in 1 group eating ITRs for lunch all day. I remember your brother's car getting pushed into the paddock after this happened. It happened twice that event. A yellow ITR bit the dust in that same turn.
