I don't care if it came from a Z32, J30, or whatever... as long as it bolts up to my R200 diff and works with my S14 subframe and doesn't cost more than a tank of gas I'm interested.
Thanks.

I've got a friend going to the local pluck n pull tomorrow, I'll see if he can grab one.

What options do we have here for S14 besides the aftermarket options? I thought j30 and z32 were 4 bolt like s13 covers.

Nope, only option for the S13 is the VLSD cover...
I currently have an NA Z32 or J30 diff cover, but would prefer the one that holds a bit more fluid and has cooling fins.

The J30 had finned and unfinned 2 bolt covers (S14 subframe style) - depends on the year. NA Z32s have finned 2 bolt covers that also work.

NA Z32 are all finned brah.
I think some Q45s with R200s had finned covers as well.

Thanks for clearing up the cover thing.
Couldn't someone just go cheap and fab one up like all the 4x4 folks do? Or weld fins onto the stock one and modify it slightly to increase capacity maybe. Don't think I've seen anyone do this now that I think about it.

Yeah, I definetly run a finned cover on my J30 diff in my S14 sub-frame. Really don't think I can do better without going to the greedy extended cover.
I also don't think the J30 diff / cover gets me any more fluid capacity to speak of.

J30/Z32 NA covers are readily available and very cheap. I picked up mine for $11 from a junkyard. Was just a bit of a pain to pull it without getting the diff out of the car at the same time.

The finned cover does have more capacity. It's in the FSM as capacity without a VLSD vs. with a VLSD (finned).

I've sold a couple q45 diff covers on here to people...you are correct sir. I haven't seen any direct relation to year (or haven't paid attention lol) but most of the early q diffs have the finned xtracap covers.
