Hey everyone - I have a quick question about the differences of these calipers, other than rotor thickness.

I have a set of 26mm calipers but I was under the impression they were 30mm, so I purchased the 30mm rotors. It won't be a problem to switch out the rotors to 26mm but is the 30mm worth the extra money?

For the most part, I only drive my car for autocross but I would like to maybe do a track day or 2 this year. My question is, is there enough of a difference between the 30 and 26 that it would be worth ditching the 26?

Current wheel setup: FN01R-c's, 255/40/17 hankook rs-3's(brand new, just purchased) if it matters.

Thanks for any help!

30mm will have more heat capacity but unless you are using up the capacity of the 26mm guys it is really just added weight.

My opinion is that pads will be a greater concern for you than the rotor thickness...i.e., autocross pads will not be up to snuff as track day pads.

Although, HP-Plus pads perform double-duty pretty well.

Autocross is EASY on braking compared to HPDE's...I think you'll be fine if that's your main goal.

Okay, then I won't worry about it for now. I forgot to mention I also bought the HP+ pads.

Thanks!d

You will be fine, if you are overheating them, then you either doing something wrong or need to stay off the brakes and carry that speed!:p

If you're using it on a S-chassis there is no issue unless you want to adapt the caliper to use other rotors, like a VR-4 rotor, or the 350z track rotor, those require the 30mm caliper.
