Whats up, I trolled a little bit and liked what I saw. I'm a Drexel student working on the FSAE team and have some big plans for the 92 hatch I have but like many others lack the time and money. School and FSAE have a strangle hold on them :(

Looking forward to contributing...

I just got back from a spring break camping trip with a guy who did EE at Drexel and then almost completed a PhD in engineering there before bailing for a different field. Hope you enjoy the forum here.

Welcome, and I look forward to your contributions.

However, leave the RBs in Skylines... they're too heavy for a serious track car.

Welcome! I agree with the above post though. RB's are too heavy, long, and tall for use in a serious track 240. LS1 on the other hand...........;)

hehe LSx v8 mmm, all aluminum block, non-dohc low center of gravity, most added weight in transmission, low, down in center of car = hot

Welcome to the forum :)

I guess I need to change my settings so I'm notified of responses....

The prospect of an RB is what initially got me away from DSM's. There is plenty to argue as far as what is better and why however once I graduate and I have my track only car I'm going to shoot for a dry sump and figure out how to lower powertrain.

I would go with an RB for drag racing/high way racing sort of thing.... but for track road racing/autox or something id go with lsx, just my opinion. An RB25det can go many ways in producing powre and it sounds AWESOME... I just love it so much...

check this out...

but alas for handling i dunno.. id want every advantage and lsx has that.. and yeah more torque etc... but the sound is SO awesome:

Sexy car.... the good thing is I don't have to even start thinking about it for another year while I'm in school and penniless.

And the time is FINALLY nearing.... I was going to get a job offer from Penske Shocks but the economy screwed that up and I've taken an offer at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh.

1) Anyone from that area?
2) I think my first order of business will be addressing the looks and brakes....yack

I'm thinking the dark blue thats on the vette or some of the porsches with some light gun metal/silverish pin striping and a set of SF-challenges/te-37s in gun metal or gold.

Haven't done enough research to talk about brake options for the 240 yet but I'm thinking a Wilwood setup for my much anticipated days at mid-ohio/beaverun.

I guess after that its suspension and KA-t time. I'm crazy and will probably attempt a new CNC'd upright/custom controls arms and pay my FSAE team to use their CNC. I've always wanted the FP3065 though.

I grew up about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. I used to pass one of the Westinghouse sites on my way to work when I was at home for summer vacation. Which site will you be working at? There are quite a few in the area.

I live around Philly now, and have plans to go back to school (Drexel) in the fall. I'm going to try to get involved with FSAE, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have since I'll be working full-time too.

I'll be in the big office building off 376 in Monroeville until we move to somewhere in Cranberry in 2010. Right now is a great time to go to Drexel, good luck and I hope you do go to the FSAE lab. For that kind of thing though you just need to make the time.

Your numbers are off your mom... total weight based on the corners if they're correct is a scary 3822lbs.

front and rear = 50%
cross = 49.9%

Latrobe huh? That's weird. Ever been to Perryopolis? Probably not.

I'm going to hold off on the RB until I get the new Genesis Coupe and turn the 240sx into a more dedicated track car. I'll enjoy the car with a KA-t while I wait though since it'll be another 1-2 years probably.

Well A Stock 14 w/ 1/4 Gas and Me in it was only 30xx, I doubt that RB and Sound system adds another 800-900lbs...

Maybe I'm missing something here...

Somethings missing. Full fiberglass multi-sub system, busted scales, four 50lb baller rims.... but my percentages seem more like something one might shoot for when corner weighting.

Google tells me the RB only weighs 150lbs more.
