Looking for info?
What brake and wheel setup would yall go with, for a Daily Driver/Weekend drift & Road track?
This would be for a S13 Hatch.
Need something reliable, is would that just be the install, as for the reliability?
I also like more tire, dont care for big freaken rims...
thanks

Z32 brakes all the way around with decent pads should be good enough for what you're asking about for the car.
If that's still not enough, there's always the Z33 rotor adaptor bracket that you can buy to fit Z33 track edition rotors to your front while still retaining the Z32 calipers. Monty is going this route, and should have some real track data to report back to us with soon. I believe he left to go attend a track day for the weekend earlier today.

Thanks.
What inch rim would I have to run, or what inch rim would ya recommend for use with the Z32 and for my application?

what kinda power do you make. i know people who do great in a basically stock car with stock brake calipers and some hawk hp+ all around. then again yesterday i had to come in early due to fading with front z32 brakes with hawk hp+ and some generic brake fluid

You can fit as small as 15" rims with the Z32 brakes. Some may require a spacer to avoid the spokes hitting the caliper.

As I said in my Intro. I wont get the S13 till nexted Fall.
Im just doing my homework.
(Fullrace Link Here) (http://www.full-race.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=834_836_1091_1094&products_id=1759&osCsid=fd861945c12af584f5e818ecf6d2e231)
I want the twinscroll setup, but been told that their(fullrace)inercooler wont fit a stock S13 front end. But I can post that question in the NRR turbo section.
As for WHP Im not sure, I want at least 300 lbs of torque.
I also forgot about tire selection. Would I be better off just getting a 17" rim?
Are there 17" rims that look stock?
Nice and sleepy!

What yr or bolt pattern?
Anyone care to post up a link of 350Z wheel for me?
that would fit an 91-93 S13 Hatch?

No offense, but we can't babysit you every step of the way.
350Z wheels will fit an S13, but you'll have to go 5-lug, 5x114.3 specifically.
A quick Google search will net you all the information you need about sizes and offsets.
There have been many, many S-chassis with Z33 wheels on them.

Plus, they look like balls on S13's.

I have Z33 7 spokes on my S14 with some crap Kumho ASX as winter/roadtrip tires. They really don't look that OE on a 240 since they're 17s and the car came stock with 15s or 16s. The fronts are also 17x7.5 while the rears are 17x8. I'm running the same tire size all around (225/45) so I put the 17x8s up front for better response (lol). I doubt it really did anything, as 1/2" is nothing, but it seemed like a cool idea at the time. Here it is, buried in snow a few months ago...

apparently if you CAN get a hold of z33 track calipers and rotors they are direct bolt on minus the fact you have to redrill mount holes to 14mm... i just found that out the other day on zilvia.. but as aceinthehole mentioned they are heavy ass hoes.
I wouldn't run anything stock but z32 front and rear... currently im unsatisfied with the HP+ pads... but i am more concerned with better tires at the moment than i have for more braking... anything else would be overkill until i get better tires...

I posted about these in my intro thread. I've got them on my car. They're not that heavy, and lighter than the STi/EVO parts.

Don't they also cost an assload more than the Z32 setup, unless you find a hookup?

you be right on that mate... in otherwords thats why i said if you CAN get a hold of em :P
I have the 180sx brakes coupled with ebc red pads. Rear are stock with project mu pads. I did this for two reasons the brakes were free and I wanted to go with a 4-lug for now. They stop wonderfully on the street. I have not had a chance to auto-x with them but I bet coupled with good tires its gonna be a hard to beat combo-especially considering how little i did and how little it has cost

Last year i ran:
Front :
300zx 30mm calipers
Carbotech XP12 pads
Super Blue brake fluid
Brembo blank rotors
Rear:
300zx calipers
Carbotech Xp10 pads
Super Blue brake fluid
Brembo blank rotors
Setup was great, but without brake ducting i went through the pads in 3 HPDE's. I do not suggest anything this agressive pad wise for auto-x or people with just a few HPDE's under their belt. Its really ment for very compressed braking zones and alot of seat time to handle.
Now the only change i have made is Cobalt XR2 F, and XR3 R pads. Brake ducting to come before summer events, should help tons.

I know old post.... Anyone ever take the car out before and after for 60-0 testing or log G's? I've seen "upgrades" decrease deceleration rates before and look forward to making some changes to my setup. I'm particularly interested in the common stuff like Z32 swaps.
Related question... Anyone actually measure for CG position (height included) on their 240?

As long as you can threshold brake, key word... what pad you use, then your 60-0 stopping time will be more dependent on your tire that you use than the brake setup.
Most tests we've seen in the magazines typically show that aftermarket brakes stop slower than factory brakes, but have more heat disipation... I still don't trust these tests since I'm never sure if they had the right pad choice/brake distribution with the new big fancy brakes that they just threw on for the day to test.

True about the mag tests, but most people do the same thing which is why I asked.
