Hey everyone I have been on zilvia for a while now and was referred here by another zilvia member. I have gotten very sick of the typical drifter "slam the **** outta your car with whatever coils, stretch the hell outta your tires, swap an SR, and you've got a dope car" attitude so I guess I'm trying to expand my horizons.
I basically grew up at the racetrack. My dad raced fromula atlantic cars with SCCA for pretty much as long as I can remember. I was the whole pit crew! From about 10 years old I have been working on his cars. When I was about 15 I was completely responsible for pretty much everything that needed to be done to the car at the track. I also helped out prepping the car in the garage. At age 19 I began attending LA Pierce College's automotive program. At age 21 I started working for one of my instructors at his trans shop. I have only worked at 4 shops total and I have been a professional mechanic for about 5 years now. I currently have 4 ASE's (A/C, electrical, manual trans and drivetrain, and auto trans) and will be going for my master tech this spring. I currently specialize in transmissions, drivetrain, suspension/brakes, and electrical. I do absolutely everything, but those are my specialties. In the last couple of years I have started doing my own light fabrication work. I have studied suspension geometry pretty extensively in the last couple of years although I still have a lot to learn. Hopefully I can gain more knowledge here!

Yay you finally joined man lol, I repped you twice with the address to join :D

I'm glad you did. Welcome.

I was about to switch careers a year ago and go back for mechanical engineering and cnc courses as it intrigues me so much... but I am too busy working now to earn a living for my wife and I lol. It's a really cool thing. I wish I could go back for that, maybe I'll take part time courses on the side... just for myself.

LoL I've created a love-hate on zilvia about anti-stretching and fat rubber threads, I get so many negs from the stretching people. Like a while ago that thread about running a 195/30/18 or something LOLLL on a 18x10.5 wtf?!?!?

I find myself fighting off brainless idiots on many different subjects pretty regularly over there. I probably should have included in my intro post that I have no patience for morons who are unwilling to listen! LOL!

He no longer races atlantic cars, so pics are difficult as I do not have a scanner to post up the old pics. He still has his reynard so eventually I can get pics. The good news is that he DOES race a 93 lola indy car with a 3.5 litre turbo buick v-6. That I can get pics of sometime soon. Thanks for the replies guys! It's nice to be welcomed.
