Chevy Cavalier Starter

I just replaced the starter on a friend of mines '94 Chevy Cavalier and now the car is completely dead. Before, with the old starter, at least he would hear it trying to turn over but now we don't hear anything. Any ideas?

EDIT: He fixed some electrical problem. I didn't ask what it was.
