I'm in the market for a new boost controller and wastegate. I've been looking around and the apexi AVCR and trust Profec have caught my eye. I'm thinking they all have fancy settings and all sorts of features to fine tune boost levels, curves, gians....etc. But Its all added headaches. What about just running a spring? You will loose all the adjustability but its simple and reliable...i suppose you could find some sort of progressive spring rate to sort of getto tune the curve and gain. Also a spring is a lot cheaper than a $500 contoller. Any thoughts?

not running an EBC causes the wastegate to open to slowly not to mention you can't really fine tune the boost you want to run.

I have had pretty good luck with my Turbo XS manual controller, but I do admit that an electronic controller does control boost more effectively and allows for faster spool often times.

I run a Greddy Type S. It is easy to adjust and change from high to low boost. It wasn't that expensive either. I don't ever see spikes or any unwanted surges from it.
