My company has been involved in the latest iteration of this build, you will see mention of a 450hp motor in the works (n/a 4.0 air cooled)

The owner is very picky, I'd prefer to say no more about my involvement (PM me if you must know more)

This car is amazing in every way...makes everything else look half assed

Insanity, the guy must have deep pockets. That lavender interior is nasty as hell though. I wonder how that tranny compares to a manual.

LOL it's not even a show car...never been to a show...it's a garage queen basically, when it's not being shipped from NYC to CA for work in an enclosed entirely empty custom car carrier...not 100% sure the exhaust could even stand getting to temp...no-one is allowed to get it up to temp (push on and off trailer...very carefully) god I wish I could show/Tell what we have in the shop right now for this car...truly WTF kinda stuff truly

I'll never understand the point of spending that kind of money on something that will never be driven.

That thing is way intense though, simply amazing.

you and i will never see that kind of money

Out of curiousity, in what industry is the guy an engineer?

Maybe you guys won't, but I'm planning on it eventually. well, assuming I win Powerball one of these years. :)

Seeing that much money put into a "race" car and not put to use is just flabbergasting. Show cars have a purpose in life. track cars have another purpose. Garage queens are simply the equivalent of rich people whacking off into a jar and sticking it on a shelf to show to others with an "I'm better than you" sticker on it.

that was an incorrect statement, he MAY have a degree or two but he doesn't work as an engineer.

Matt: I plan on being filthy rich, but I will never see his kind of money...just trust me when I say that,

Rent a G5 to go to Europe for the day, chauffeur every where, lives on 5th ave. overlooking central park,

That car has to have 3.5million in it easy.

Powerball is in excess of 100 million at times.

Last time I bought a powerball ticket, it was over 270 million. after taxes, 130 million takehome? I can't see myself able to spend all of that in a lifetime so I'd consider that pretty damn rich.
Then again, after all of my long-lost "cousins" quit coming out of the woodwork and asking for charity, my wife will probably have given it all away.

Ya know, it's a wild build, but there are plenty of other guys with Porsches in the greater manhatten area that have much more functional street cars with less cash.

I had to be the debby doubter, but just how I see it.

To be fair this isn't a street car, why it is even registered is a mystery to me.
It has brake ducting that would scrape on a pebble, I think it's as big of a shame or greater than the R34 in the insane R34 thread, that this thing doesn't get track time.
The quality of every component everywhere is outstanding. No expense was spared anywhere,

So while I can't disagree with your statement, I don't think anyone involved has ever considered this a street car, even though it has a removable hardtop, with sunroof and heated rear defog window...it's a rolling contradiction, :D

It has :eek:CAST:eek: Ti front knuckles...call around and ask no one will quote a Ti casting you effectively can't cast the stuff...so many rules were bent to breaking point to make this car possible, it's just a shame it never gets enjoyed,

It's really stressful just working on parts for the car, the owner makes your average perfectionist look like he just doesn't give a rat's A$$.

Yea, the cast Ti spindles definitely caused a raised eyebrow on my part. I've worked with A LOT of Ti stuff, and I have only seen 1 cast part, and it was like $120k for a piece not much bigger than a spindle.

BTW Mike - make me some really cheap Ti and Al metric bolts/nut and drainplugs - NOW! :D

But:confused:

But:(

I'm already slaving over your brake hats...I hate making plate round I should have started with round or roughed on the mill...squares turn funny:D

Mike

Def

I figured that'd the hats would take 3 operations - mill > lathe > mill. Or could you do it all in one milling operation?

You could always get some 10" round stock right and burn through half of it? hah

I know it's my first post, but w/e... lol

Even a couple million Porsche's still look like ****. Not referring to the colour scheme either...
I don't know why so much money was invested (wasted) in this car. I would have spent it elsewhere.
Regardless... The engineering behind this build and the quality is staggering. Unfortunately everything else sucks...

I think the chassis is one of the best (and porshophiles agree) it is still true to the air cooled origins while integrating alot of technology not yet adopted by many manufacturers ...extremely well balanced from the factory and this was a RS america to start (that's the lightweight factory NA racer) think s2000 club racer edition or evo with the urban assault package or whatever it's called,

BTW opinions are easier to accept when backed up by more than "everything else sucks" kinda sets the wrong tone Just a heads up:D
