I timetrial and hillclimb a S13 that I call the 240RS Maxi. Its more a 200RS Maxi but whatever, it started life as a 240 and I gave it new life when it was about to head to the crusher. There are a lot of great people on here I am familiar with from Zilvia and FA. I didn't know there was a Nissan road race forum and saw a link in Veilside180sx's SIG on Zilvia. After looking through the posts, there is a ton of knowledge and experience here, especially in suspension (something I would like to learn more about). It seems easy enough to make an S chassis handle WELL, but there is a lot to learn about making it handle AWESOME, something I definitely haven't figured out yet. Tim @ TIP is working with me (thanks Tim! I'm taking the rear suspension off today, don't worry!) on new damping specs, torsion bar diameter and wall thickness (for my new semi-budget bladed swaybar setup), spring rates etc. I think there is a ton more speed in this car with suspension development and as it will have twice the power this year, I will need some development. I consider myself a good fabricator, it being my strong point and passion here at the shop. I also build transmissions, which I love (58 in the last two years, mostly subaru 5MTs and Evo 5 speeds, but some nissans) I am considering making the adaptor plate so more people can use the G-Force roadrace gearbox that I use in my car. Its really the only part that takes a good amount of time and development in getting the gearbox going. From the other people I've met / talked to who road race/time trial the S Chassis, they are all very down to earth and really nice. I think we can take over the world if we really put our minds to it. My (very lofty) goal for my car is to be the quickest RWD time attack car in the world. The Yashio Factory S15 and Pan Speed RX7 are in my opinion the fastest and most well developed RWD cars at the moment. The TwinsTurbo RX7 is really impressive but I know the weight is higher than the maxi. There is another 100 lbs to lose if I had the budget but I don't, so I am going to try and use what I have, increase power, finish the flat bottom and develop the suspension. Whatever I have learned from building this car, I will share with the community. S13 FTW
