I wonder if I a 86XX setup can handle getting airborne?

If I were running rallyx i would use tender springs in addition to the main springs, with the longest stroke inserts I could fit in there.

DMS is made here in australia, its not as popular as people think, but their aftermarket support, having 5 way adjustable shocks might be handy, but more room to go backwards

The only thing people have said is they need rebuilding every few months, with leaking seals being a common problem

In my experience, the stock suspension holds up well, even in airborne situations. I mean, you have to deal with bottoming out or whatever, which i know isn't the fastest way to land, but I have only blown two shocks, which were due to hitting an invisible curb. I rally my Subaru religiously and it takes to rough terrain very well. No suspension damage has been because of rallying. Ride height is also pretty good for rally situations even stock. I would estimate that when I am home, I rally at least two hours a week. I have rallied as much as seven hours or so in a week. I mean, what the hell else are you going to do with the slowest car on earth other than rally and corner hard? I might also add that these cars brake extremely well for an econo-box POS.

I doubt any of the rally crosses are as agressive as some of the natural, not so legal, rally courses I run. I would try a set of used, or cheap, rally tires for my first few outings with stock suspension. It's cheap to replace if something happens, and I doubt it will keep you from being competitive in the associated classes.
