Hey everyone,

I just wanted to pass this along. This is an amazing venue that offers a 1.1 mile course with off camber turns, a long sweeper and some elevation change. It is a PERFECT transition track between a parking lot/autocross event to a legit road track like VIR. There are virtually no places to seriously mess up and you get well into 3rd gear, possibly into 4th if you have the right vehicle.

This past event we had several people out that frequent VIR for spec E30 and HPDEs. All of them were extremely impressed with the place and are signing up for the next one. You seriously can't find track time for this cheap.

Here is a short (and VERY shaky video) from the last event, showing a lap around the track and some shots from the paddock area. If you watch the video all the way through you can see how off camber the turns are:

This is how you sign up:

Finally: You must fax 757-424-0776 or hand deliver a copy of your birth certificate or passport by Oct. 12th. If you have been to a driftwater event your info is already on file, no need to re-fax anything.

This event is open to both drift and grip drivers.

It is on the grounds of the US Training Center (formerly known as Blackwater - hence the name) and they require that everyone be legal who steps on the property. It is kind of a pain in the ass at first, but it is completely worth it. I've been to the past 3 and haven't had my ID stolen, LOL.

So what's the story behind it being called blackwater?
In my world, blackwater is the stuff that comes out the used end of a toilet...........
