A hammer and bead bag plus a fender roller will do wonders to a front fender (or just a fender roller and hammer + torch). Big pull of rears on the S13 tend to buckle the rear 1/4, but you should be ok. It looks good, though! Racecars were meant to have TIRE.

The rear is not going to take much to fit these... the fronts will. I need to research fender pulling some and this bead bag that you mention :). I am more than happy with the fitment so far. On new years I have a Eastwood fender roller showing up from a friend to use for a month or so. I do agree that cars that see the track need tire... lots of it!

Found a few more washers to mock up a 10mm spacer... this gives me 5mm clearane tire/perch. I'll go from the 8" 440lb spring to the 6" 550lb spring tomorrow and see how much more/less clearance I have once I move the perch up. For now though it looks like a 10mm spacer will do the trick. http://www.sr20forum.com/gallery/data/959/medium/RA1_test_fitment_10mm_spacer.jpg

Great pic, that really helps show how a shorter spring yields more clearance. Should a 6" 440 lb. spring allow sufficient travel before coil bind?

GC typically ships a 6" 400lb spring for the front of a 240 on there off the shelf kit, so a 440lb spring should work. I do feel safer with the 550lb 6" spring though...

Finally got around to swapping out the 440lb 8" springs to the 550lb 6" springs today. I'm now able to run without any spacers and have about 2-3mm of clearance between the tire and spring perch. The perch is adjusted all the way up, I'd be afraid to go any higher. I could use a 2-3mm spacer if needed... once the snow melts I'll do some test driving to see if it's an issue or not.

It should be alot easier to fit the tires up front now with no spacers being used :)

Looks like those will camber right in under compression. Any side shots to see how high the car sits with the 6" spring at the top of the threaded perch?

The ride height didn't change, it just worked out that the 2" difference between the springs put the perch right at the top of the adjustment. I don't see the wheel cambering in, but I don't see that I should have to pull the fenders that much to get them to fit.
If I didn't care about the cost of wheels/tires and went with a 18" package, then I wouldn't have as much of a problem clearing the perch.
here's a picture I took about a month back...

^That's an amazing feat!
Thanks for posting in my zilvia thread btw lol... I +1 repped you :)
If my calculations are right... and of course calculations are always wrong... well most of the time in real life...
a 18x10.5+15 with 295/30/18 would be 1mm shorter in backspace (further away from coilover) than mcoy's setup, sidewall would be 21mm shorter, tire would be 17mm shorter (wow), it would stick out 30mm further out so widebody would be required.. but speaking of the inside.. it would basically have same/better clearance...
thats nuts... 18x10+15 = enkei rpf 1 or volk se37k... like omg lol!

Clearance would be even better with 18s, and a 295 on a 10.5 would probably be more square than a 275 on a 9. So a 10.5/295 combo should really never rub.

Yep, going with a shorter diameter helps alot... to bad it costs so much more to go 18"s :(.
At the ride height shown above and at full lock the wheels rub the fender liners pretty bad. With the liners out there is no issue, still about 1/2" of clearance to the seams on the back side of the inner fender. I wouldn't go any lower though or there might be issues with rubbing under compression.
For a daily driven car I wouldn't really recommend this tall of a tire, especially if you want to lower it at all. For track... ehh, whatever fits and doesn't rub :)

hey have you considered something like this:
http://photos.freshalloy.com/gallery/v/WilloW/Project+mu+camber+plates/?g2_navId=x9b16759a
Apparently it lowers the car 1"/gives 1" extra travel?
What do you think? SPL apparently used to sell something similar. I reckon that... its so good no one buys it lol...

The bearing is actually in the same location as the Cusco one is from the factory. From what I see as the adjustment range on that, it actually goes from normal plate stock to an inch higher rather than lower. The only one that it would really be advantageous over is the Tein that has the funky outcropping.

Realistically it's more like a half an inch though. Just something to note is all.=)

The one SPL sold in the past was made by KTS.

Something interesting about all the short tires being 18"- I was reading the specs on Bob Tunnell's M3, and noted that he runs 285/30/18 front and 335/35/17 rear. I've never seen an 18f/17r stagger, but it makes sense considering he's a competitive autocrosser and getting the max amount of rubber to fit is key. Make the wheel fit the tires you need, not vice versa. But for lapping days, I'm also of the "best bang for the buck" camp.

But then whats up with this im confused... :( :
http://photos.freshalloy.com/gallery/d/31466-2/IMGP0456.JPG
It has that top adjuster which adjusts up and down, does it pull up/down the damper or?? I'm being stupid I'm not very knowledgable I know lol... but just asking :(
Edit: I know I'm sounding stupid... I am not very knowledgable, if you could just explain to me how it works... my understanding was it would lower the car by raising the mounting point or something?... and that the part where the adamper is connected to is able to be moved up and down?... I would love to understand how those bearings and things work more... like how in that one thread you were talking about how you were finding adapters for the bearings or something for the cusco plate or something... yeah emberassing but I don't know...

^^^ it won't lower your car, just give you back some shaft travel by moving the upper mount point up. If you look at the tein camber plates, the top of the shaft is about 1.5 to 2" below the camber plate due to the design of the plate.
The KTS plates move the mount point up so that you'll gain back some travel, if that's an issue. The Cusco plates are a simplier plate with alot less loss in shaft travel than the Tein's, but run a heck of alot more in cost.
I know my explaination isn't the best, but it's the best I can do to describe it... maybe someone can do a better job :)

Well I still don't quite get it lol... but if it improves damper's travel thats good?... but is it worth it or what? And how would it compare to the cusco one? (Cusco good, tein bad lol... thats what i got from the post too)... I still want to kind of understand it a lil better though...

I'll draw a diagram when i get home from work, that will explain it better.

I finally got around to swapping out hubs on the other side yesterday and pulled the car out today to snap a few shots.
After pulling the liner, you can see how much room I have at full lock... of course on track I'll never be at full lock, but it will probably be best to hammer the pinch seams for additional clearance.
